Train Park

Wayne is a HUGE train nut. He built this train specifically for this park. He is scooping up coal to put in the engine. Cool, eh? You can ride them around the park which has been in Sydney for at least 40 years. It is a great fun on a cool day.

Christmas Day Part 3

After leaving Janette & Wayne's house, we stopped by the Fagans for a quick egg not and pumpkin pie.

We enjoy their company so much, which was apparent after we stayed 4 1/2 hours!

We are all smiles after Susan's famous pumpkin pie. Mmmmm good.

How does friendship grow so quickly? We are sisters in Christ!

Christmas Day Part 2

Janette & Wayne invited us over for a traditional Aussie Christmas dinner - SEAFOOD.

These are Balmain Bugs and are SOOOOO yummy.

Baked veggies with prawns (Americans say "Shrimp")

These are Jonathon's favorite - Oysters Kilpatrick. Wayne makes them better than anyone else!

I have no idea what I was doing, but I am standing over Janette's kitchen sink. Let's hope I was being helpful by washing the dishes. HA

Christmas Day Part 1

Wayne, Janette, Jonathon and I went to the children's hospital to pass out teddy bears. It was wonderful to see so few kids. Some of the wards had only 3 children.

Our Christmas Party

Our new friends Susan and Stuart Fagan from San Diego. We are going to miss them terribly when they head back to the States in February.

I banished the little people to the backyard. The one big person is Wayne who just can't seem to stay away from them.

This is the first year EVER that Kelly read the Christmas story from the Bible.

I wore my Santa hat all day but SOMEONE else in this photo refused!

Spider

Thank heaven this creepy spider was found on my porch and not INSIDE my house. Why do we live here?

Christmas at the Opera House

This year we went to "Christmas at the House" which is quite an event at the Opera House. I was amazed that this ONE DAY a year, the Aussies wholeheartedly worship Jesus and celebrate His birth. They even read straight out of the Bible - Luke chapter 2.

Before the performance, Fritz and Nora joined us at Guylian Chocolate Cafe. They make the BEST cocoa on the planet!

Tina and Jonathon enjoying dark chocolate cocoa.

Kitty's First Birthday

Janettey, Carol, Tina, Fajita, and Kay Lee at Phinlay's (Kitty's) first birthday party.

Phinlay MARIE - my namesake! You'd think I would call her Marie, but my nickname for her is Kitty after she got into the cat food a few months ago.

We had NO idea what to buy a one year old. Our ferret Kato LOVED her stuffed Elmo so it only seemed appropriate to get Kitty something so near and dear to our hearts.

YEA! She was already intrigued with Elmo blowing her kisses.
We love you so much Kitty Marie!

Jonathon hauled this wiped out little one to the car.

Kirt wanted to show me a Christmas beetle. Honestly this country has more bugs than any place on earth!!

Pinball Lesson

Jonathon was giving Kirt a pinball lesson. The boy is only 7 and took THIRD PLACE at a tournament at Janette and Wayne's house a few weeks ago. He is a gifted player.

Caroling at the Nursing Home

Calvary Chapel Sydney and Calvary Chapel Fellowship of Epping got together to go caroling at a local nursing home.

Because we were such a large group, the nursing home split us up into two - one on each floor.

This was a LOT of fun.

As I was putting lotion on Purdy's hands, I asked what her favorite carol was. She started to sing "Jesus Loves Me." I just ADORED her. She is charming and so sweet. I never met my grandmother, but I would have loved to have taken Purdy home to be mine.

I was in utter shock. Total disbelief!

Ornament Exchange Party

We had our annual Christmas Ornament Exchange after Bible study tonight.

JR got a snowman. (Funny since it NEVER snows in Sydney!) This is as close as we will get to a flurry this year. : (

I was thrilled with my prize - a parachuting MOOSE! .
