Western Wall Tunnel

This tunnel was dug to explore the Western Wall's foundations. It follows along the base along a Herodian street below today's street level.

This model was really neat. It uses hydraulics and lights to show you what the wall looked like then and how this entire area looks today.

This site along the tunnel is the closest you can get to the Foundation Stone which is in the Dome of Rock. The Muslims do not allow any Jewish people or non-Muslims to enter it. It was interesting to me that the Western Wall/Wailing Wall has the men and women separated, but here in the tunnel they all pray together.

This is me walking in the narrow tunnel.
